Basil
oil is obtained from the entire epigeous part of the plant Ocimum basilicum through steam
distillation.
Appearance:
Free-flowing liquid
Color: Yellow to yellow-green
Aroma: Specific spicy, strong, pleasant and fresh, slightly balsamic with a
tarragon tinge
Density at 20°C: 0.8700 – 0.9100
Refraction number at 20°C: 1.4650 - 1.4810
Polarization in 100 mm tube: –5.5° to -15°
Acid number: 0.37 – 4.0
Ester number: 7.1 – 24.0
Content of free alcohols (such as linalool), %: min 48.0 |
Composition: Linalool, geraniol, methylhavicol, nerol, citronellol, bornylacetate,
eugenol, limonene, etc.
Expiry term: Three years as of the manufacture date
Packing: 15 liter aluminum cans, 100 liter sealed drums, 200 1iter
zinc-coated barrels; customized packing units are negotiable.
Storage: In dry, dark and cool premises
Application: perfumery and cosmetics, soap production, pharmacy. medicine, food
industry.
