( OLEUM TANACETUM VULGARE )

Tansy oil is obtained from fresh or dried blossoms of the tansy plant ( Tanacetum vulgare ) through steam distillation.

Appearance: Free-flowing, transparent liquid    
Color: Yellow
Aroma: Specific for the raw material, thujic      
Density at 20°C: 0. 9310 – 0. 9440
Refraction number at 20°C: 1.4690 – 1.4750      
Polarization in 100 mm tube: –3.0° to +44.0°   
Acid number: max. 6.0
Ester number: 67.0 – 120.0
Ester number after acetylation: 122.0 – 208.0
Ketones (such as thujone), %: 25.0 – 70.0     


Solubility in 95% ethyl alcohol: Readily soluble 
Composition:
Multi-ingredient mixture of hydrocarbons - alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, phellandrene; alcohols - linalool, borneol, thujylalcohol; ketones - thujone. etc.; esters – thujylacetate bornylacetate, etc.
Expiry term: Two years as of the manufacture date
Packing:
15 liter aluminum cans, 100 liter sealed drums, 200 1iter zinc-coated barrels; customized packing units are negotiable.
Storage: In dry, dark and cool premises
Application: As an ingredient in various compositions in perfumery and soap industry.
